Llanberis Guides is headed up by international mountain guides Ric Potter and Libby Peter, who take pride in providing quality and flexibility with a friendly approach. All the guides and instructors working with Llanberis Guides have the highest professional qualifications, however, first and foremost they are keen climbers themselves so we are confident you'll be appreciative of their depth of experience and local knowledge combined with a relaxed and personable approach.

Our ethos is one of professional guiding without losing the amateur spirit for adventure, and our attention to safety will not detract from sharing our passion for climbing with you.

Libby Peter

Rock climbing and mountaineering have been central to Libby's life for over 20 years. She has visited many of the major climbing areas in the UK and worldwide, sampling all aspects of climbing from bouldering to high altitude mountaineering and everything in between. In addition to guiding and instructing Libby occasionally writes articles for the climbing press and is the author of Rock Climbing - the official handbook of the Single Pitch and Mountaineering Instructor Awards.

Ric Potter

Ric started climbing in the early eighties, and soon moved to North Wales, inspired by the vibrant Welsh climbing scene. Since then he has climbed in many areas of the world and his experiences range from enjoying the delights of rock climbing on crags all over Britain to making first ascents in the Himalayas and the Andes. Since 1991 Ric has worked in the mountains leading treks and expeditions, instructing at National Mountain Centres and working as a full time Alpine Guide.
